Kaizer Chiefs will take part in the Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup as part of the pre-season preparation for the 2017/18 season. The announcement was made at an event attended by dignitaries from all walks of life in Klerksdorp on Tuesday morning.
The Maize Cup, which is in its third instalment, will be played on Saturday, 15 July. Four teams will take part in a one day knockout format. Kaizer Chiefs and Platinum Stars went into the draw as seeded teams against Botswana’s Township Rollers and Free State Stars.
Semi-final Draw Results:
10:00 Platinum Stars vs Free State Stars
12:00 Kaizer Chiefs vs Township Rollers
The final will kick-off at 16:00.
The tournament will be played at Orkney’s James Motlatsi Stadium.
