Kaizer Chiefs will be represented by four players when South Africa travel to Nigeria for Sunday's World and African Cup qualifiers in Abuja.

The match will be new Bafana Bafana coach Joel Santana’s first game in charge and represents a real baptism of fire for the Brazilian born tactician.

In goal, Itumeleng Khune has been outstanding for Amakhosi this season and has an excellent chance of starting against the Super Eagles.

He will be fighting for his place against former Chiefs custodian Rowen Fernandez, as well as Wits number one Moeneeb Josephs.

Should he get the nod, the young shot stopper is sure to have a busy game - Nigeria mentor Shaibu Amodu, (a former Orlando Pirates coach), has called up all the team's big guns and Khune could find himself on the receiving end of shots from the likes of Nwankwu Kanu and his Portsmouth team-mate John Utaka, as well as the Everton duo of Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Victor Anichebe.

Should he make it onto the field on Sunday, Amakhosi central defender Mokete Tsotsetsi will face a stern test against the physical and speedy Nigerian strike force.

He will however have to battle it out with the likes of Aaron Mokoena, Bongani Khumalo, Bevan Fransman and Robyn Johannes for a place in the starting line-up.

In the midfield, Simphiwe Tshabalala has been one of Chiefs' most consistent performers and when in full flight, is a joy to watch. He will however have to compete with the recalled and more experienced Delron Buckley to earn a place in Santana's starting line-up.

He will be joined in that department by Gerald Sibeko, who faces a stiff test in trying to force his way into Santana'a reckoning ahead of Steven Pienaar and PSL Player of the Season, Teko Modise.

South Africa's status as 2010 hosts means of course that their qualification for the World Cup is automatic - they will be fighting instead for the right to take part in the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola, where their participation will be vital as far as preparation for the World Cup later that year goes.

The two other side’s in Bafana Bafana’s qualifying group are Equatorial Guinea and Sierra Leone.
