Kaizer Chiefs were back at training on Sunday morning in preparation for the Absa Premiership fixture against AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Glamour Boys missed an opportunity to occupy the first spot on Friday night when they lost against fellow league runners, Ajax Cape Town.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday midfielder, Reneilwe Letsholonyane said the side is ready to bounce back.

“The game against Ajax Cape Town is now water under the bridge. It was our objective as the team to win the game but things did not work out. The game against AmaZulu on Wednesday provides us with an opportunity to bounce back. It is still too early for people to talk about us losing the grip on the league title,” said Letsholonyane.

Meanwhile Corporate Communication Manager Thebe Mohatle encouraged the fans to buy tickets for the upcoming game against AmaZulu.

“We urge our supporters to buy tickets early at Shoprite/Checkers including Computicket nationwide. The atmosphere in Cape Town was phenomenal with the stadium painted in gold and black. It would be gratifying to see our supporters filling our home ground to help our players overcome their opponents,”

After all, any win is a collective effort by players, officials and those that occupy our domestic pavilions. We need our supporters more at this time when the honour for the league seems a nail-biting battle considering the point’s margin between leading teams. I believe we can do with all the help” said Mohatle who sited among the fans on Friday.

He however condemned the conduct of some supporters that have reverted to their old habit of booing their player. “I shall never cease to reprimand supporters that are hell-bent on destabilizing and causing a discord by booing hard-working players and the technical team. This act of booing undermines our players and is felt more intensely when supporters that are supposed to be loyal to the brand are acting to destroy it”.

Kick off for the game is at 19h30.
