Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) returns to action this weekend and will feature Kaizer Chiefs’ Reserves, who will face Bidvest Wits Reserves.
A MDC festival will take place at Cape Town’s Philippi Stadium on Sunday, January 17.
Striker Emmanuel Letlotlo explains that he was “doing a lot of running” during the festive break. “We are excited to see that the league matches will resume.”
“The coach told us to switch on and start collecting points,” adds Letlotlo, while keeping an eye at the current MDC log table where Chiefs’ Reserves have amassed ten points from nine games played in the sixteen side league. “We are working hard to get back to winning ways.”
Letlotlo has four goals to his name, three adrift of current top scorer Sibusiso Sibeko of Golden Arrows.
Chiefs are presently in 11th position at the MDC table, while Wits occupy eighth spot with twelve points from nine matches.
Kick-Off for the match between Amakhosi and the Clever Boys is at 13:00.
The other fixtures on Sunday’s festival at Philippi Stadium are Chippa United against Maritzburg United (kick-off at 9am), followed by Mamelodi Sundowns against Bloemfontein Celtic (kick-off at 11am).
Entrance to Philippi Stadium is free. However, tickets must be collected from any Western Cape Computicket or Shoprite/Checkers outlet. Two tickets will be issued per person upon producing a valid South African ID document.
Meanwhile, other Kaizer Chiefs Development teams will be in action as well this weekend. In the SAFA Johannesburg region promotion league, Chiefs will visit Mofolo Leeds at Vuwami Ground on Saturday, January 16. Kick-Off is at 15:00.
And, in the SAFA Johannesburg Regional U21 SAB League, Amakhosi will host Argentinos at Nike Centre. This encounter is also on Saturday, January 16. Kick-Off is at 15:00.
