Kaizer Chiefs’ reserve team will travel to Limpopo this weekend for an important clash against Polokwane-based Marumo Gallants reserves in the DStv Diski Challenge.

Chiefs reserves will try and bounce back from the 1-0 loss they suffered in their last match against Royal AM reserves last weekend at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban. Gallants reserves on the other hand drew 1-1 against Mamelodi Sundowns reserves.

Gallants’ reserve side are currently bottom of the log with 13 points and Chiefs are seventh with 31 points. Both teams have each played 21 matches in the DDC.

Coach Vela Khumalo will be looking to emulate his team’s last performance against Gallants in January when the young Amakhosi put 4 goals past Gallants and kept a clean sheet.

The match will take place on Sunday at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Kick-off is at midday.

Meanwhile, after their fantastic first week of 2022 in the Gauteng Development League last weekend, Kaizer Chiefs development teams will also be in action this weekend when they visit Panorama FC for their second fixtures of the season.

Amakhosi under-13s and under-17s will kick off at 9am on Saturday, followed by the under-15 and under-19 whose games will start 10:30 at the Panorama Sports Club grounds in Roodepoort.

Amakhosi development team will try and emulate their high-scoring performance they displayed last weekend and work on their defence to ensure they concede as few as possible.
