Kaizer Chiefs Reserves went down fighting to the end only to lose to Mamelodi Sundowns Reserves in their thrill a minute MultiChoice Diski Challenge It’s Massive festival away match.

The match lived to its billing dishing out seven goals in a packed Giant Stadium in Soshanguve on Sunday afternoon. The end-to-end match never disappointed and it was no surprise when the festival of goals started with Sundowns opening the scoreboard with an opportunist goal from the lanky Carrim in the 13th minute.

It was not going to be a walk in the park for Sundowns Reserves against coach Arthur Zwane’s troops. Yaseen Bunting equalised in the 39th minute before midfield maestro Nkosingiphile Ngcobo gave Chiefs Reserves a lead in the 42nd minute with an exquisitely taken grass cuter, one for shelving as contender for the best goal of the season.

At the stroke of half time, Mkhuma equalised for Sundowns Reserves against the run of play to make it 2-2 at half time.

Chiefs Reserves went on full attack seeking a win, but a defensive lapse allowed Sundowns Reserves through Mphuti to take the lead in the 48th minute of the match. Mailula made it four for Sundowns Reserves in the 72nd minute. Substitute Raheem Milazi scored the third for Chiefs Reserves in the 84th minute. Chiefs Reserves pressed hard but could not breakthrough for a late equaliser.

To bolster firepower Bunting made way for Tshepo Myeni, Raheem Milazi and Mthokozisi Balakazi came on for Keletso Sifama and Lebohang Lesako respectively.

Chiefs drop two notches to 9th on the log after 21 matches played.
