Vermezovic returned from his off season holiday which he spent in his native Serbia a while back and has begun preparing the team for their assault on the 2010 – 2011 season.
Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com Vermezovic added, “we will train at our village for today and will then move off to the high performance centre in Pretoria (Tshwane) to carry on our preparation. We will train twice a day for the next few days as we work to get ourselves back into shape”.
The Chiefs mentor was pleased not to have any of his players returning with any injuries, “everybody has come back fit and well. George Lebese is still undergoing rehabilitation - his is an old injury”.
Chiefs midfielder Mandla Masango who spent his time in the off season attending a number of World Cup matches, was happy to be re-united with his teammates as he emerged from the locker room to begin his first training session, a cheerful Masango said.
“Obviously it was a very loud reunion not seeing the guys for some many weeks was a long time, there was a lot of banter going on it was just good to see everyone again. The break was good, getting time out was fun. I am looking forward to getting down to work and preparing for the new campaign.
I am motivated by witnessing the World Cup in my country and it's time for me to get down to business so that in four years time I can be with Bafana Bafana in Brazil ”.
Chiefs off-season signing Sthembiso Ngcobo was familiarizing himself with his new teammates, “this was my first real meeting with the guys. It went smoothly and everyone spoke to me and introduced themselves. They have put me at ease I am just happy to be at Chiefs.
