Chiefs rule in Botswana



The Amakhosi emerged conquerers with a 3-0 win over a resilient Mochudi Centre Chiefs of Gaborone, in Botswana.



Kaizer Chiefs started the game at a blistering pace with Masango and Majoro troubling the opponents with their trickery and running off the ball. Centre Chiefs gave Khuzwayo a few scares in the first half.



Baloyi was injured when he was pushed and fell awkwardly and got a cut on his knee. He was rushed to hospital where he was reported to be responding well.



First half: 2-0 to Kaizer Chiefs, Majoro and Masango.



Coach Baxter made a couple of changes in the second half. In came Gordinho, Matombo, Cele, Ekstein, Mtsweni, Rusike and Pieterse to replace Khuzwayo, Bukenya,Ritchie, Lebese, Baloyi, Nkosi and Masango.



Centre Chiefs came back strongly in the second half in search of a goal. They hit the bar and ballooned a close range open net chance towards the end of the game.



Majoro sealed it at the end, with a fine header following good work from Rusike.



At the end of the day it was a spectacle to a large crowd that braved the downpour to watch the 'Clash of the Champions'.



Final score 3-0. Chiefs lift the Botswana Challenge Cup.
