Often accused of being a sponsor glutton by "taking all the sponsors" and being able to attract sponsorship "because the team is Gauteng-based", Chiefs have proved all these statements wrong.
"By allowing our sponsors to achieve their objectives through our team, we have proved that soccer is well worth sponsoring and as such have contributed to the well being of other teams," said Kaizer Motaung, Chiefs MD and Chairman.
"We have sponsors who hold multiple brands within their group, who ask our advice on how to penetrate the market even further.
"Based on their brand positioning, we suggest certain clubs and after the introduction we allow the sponsor and the club to take discussions further," said Emy Casaletti-Page, Chiefs Brand Manager.
"If we can give a word of advice to our fellow PSL clubs, we will advise them to look after the sponsors we pass onto them because they are used to a certain level of treatment and in order for them to hold onto them they need to service them the best they can. Sponsorship is a two way stream and thus it is important to give back as much as you get."
