Kaizer Chiefs signed Ugandan winger Sula Matovu on a three year deal. “He’s an explosive player,” coach Steve Komphela analyses. ”He’s very quick off the mark.”

Amakhosi’s Football Manager Bobby Motaung confirmed that Matovu is signed on a three year deal. “We were looking at somebody that can play on the wing,” he comments. “Sula impressed during his trial period. We welcome him to the Kaizer Chiefs Family.”

The Ugandan international is primarily left footed, but he’s comfortable playing on either wing.

The 22-year-old Matovu has played for St George in Ethiopia, before moving to Erbil in Iraq. He was most recently with Swedish side BK Häcken.

The Ugandan is excited about his move to the Village: “Chiefs is a big team in Africa with big players. The Club has a good administration, it’s professionally run and it’s all about team work, which I like.”

“Besides his speed, Sula has good technical ability,” adds coach Komphela. “Let’s see how he blends with the other top dogs here at Kaizer Chiefs.”
