On Saturday, 24 March 2012, Kaizer Chiefs was at Orlando West Park in Soweto to take part in a Holy Family College event and to interact with the fun loving people of Soweto.
The event started after 11h00 and there was a meet and greet with the players including an autograph session. The players were welcomed by the ecstatic children as they made their way into the park. Assistant Coach, Arthur Zwane was amongst the representatives that also included George Lebese, Keegan Ritchie, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Sthembiso Ngcobo, Lucky Baloyi, Willard Katsande, Brent Lawler and Mandla Masango. The Marketing team was also present which included the Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung.
“Kaizer Chiefs being a big Brand it is important for us to play a positive role in the community more especially in Soweto where the Club was founded. The players are role models to these children and it was important that part of the senior team players were there because these children look up to them and inspire to be like them when they grow up,” said Arthur Zwane
“It was great to see the children being accompanied by their parents as they will encourage their children to have a passion, not only for soccer but other sporting codes as well. We hope to continue participating in these initiatives around Soweto and other areas as they get a chance to engage with the Brand, attend games and become part of the Kaizer Chiefs family,” continued Arthur
