Chiefs will be meeting Free State Stars for the second time this season. In this corresponding fixture back in December, the Amakhosi came back 2-0 losers but Chiefs turned the tables by sending them packing in the first round of Nedbank Cup through a stunning strike from veteran winger, Arthur Zwane.

This game will give Chiefs an opportunity to close the game between themselves and Supersport United who are not active in the league this weekend. Kaizer Chiefs are currently on 40 points with a game on hand while Supersport United is on 49 points after 25 games.

Free State Stars who have been playing scintillating football this season despite lying 10th on the league table. Chiefs’ defender, Onismor Bhasera knows it is not going to be an easy game.

“Stars is a difficult team to play with and we know they are going to attack us from the first minute like the did the last time we met in the league. This time though it will be different as it is our home game,” said “Bassler”.

The hard running left back missed the last game due to suspension, “It was difficult to watch the guys from the sidelines knowing there is nothing to do as I was out due to suspension. I am happy to be back in the team this weekend. We have all been working hard to continue with our mission to take each game as if it is a cup final,”

Chiefs will be missing key players, Tinashe Nengomasha, Jose Torrealba, Siphiwe Tshabalala on Saturday, “We are going to miss them but we have other guys who can come in and do the business on Saturday. The most important thing now for us is three points,” he concluded.

In official league matches the two sides have met 18 times since the inception of the Premier Soccer League in 1996 with Chiefs winning 12 times.
