Amakhosi kick off their year with an away CAF Champions League fixture against Primeiro De Agosto in Luanda, Angola. It is a must win match for both teams as they need to qualify for the group stages of the continental competition.
Chiefs hosted Agosto on 23 December at FNB Stadium and the final score was 0-0.
Noticeably, Samir Nurković re-joins the team for the first time in the 2020/21 season after undergoing an operation at the end of last season. He will however not start for Amakhosi.
Darrel Macheke will make his first start for the Glamour Boys and will play in the holding midfield position.
Matsheke will replace Willard Katsande, who did not make the trip. Two other changes in midfield will see Nkosingiphile Ngcobo replaced by Bernard Parker and Leonardo Castro coming in for Lebogang Manyama.
Daniel Akpeyi retains his starting position in goal.
The backline is made up of Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Mulomowandau Mathoho, Siyabonga Ngezana and Philani Zulu. Mphahlele will be captain.
Matsheke will work with Njabulo Blom, while Bernard Parker and Lazalous Kambole will link up with the attackers.
In the attacking department Amakhosi will rely on Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro.
The match officials are Brighton Chimene. Hi Assistants are Tafadzwa Nkala and Luckson Mhara. The game’s fourth official is Lawrence Zimondi.
