Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will do battle in the only all-PSL clash in last 16 of the Nedbank Cup on the 30th March, with The Amakhosi as the designated home team for the match it was up to Chiefs to decided where they wanted to stage the match. After their dramatic and closely fought victory over Ajax Cape Town in their opening match of the Cup which was played at the ABSA Stadium in Durban, The Amakhosi have taken a decision to host Sundowns at the same venue in around twelve days time.

Ertugral preference

Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral is pleased with the choice of venue for the match, and feels the fact that his team have already played five games at the venue this season, they are used to the surroundings of the ABSA Stadium. and the large number of Chiefs fans turning out in Durban is an added advantage for Chiefs. Ertugral said “we like playing at the ABSA Stadium somehow we feel right at home there, the fans fill the stadium every time we play there. It seems as though a lot of the Johannesburg fans like coming to Durban to watch us as they come down and make a holiday out of, overall I am glad we going back there for this match”.
