Chiefs and Polokwane City lock horns at 12:00 on Sunday, 28 January.
Two points separate Chiefs and Polokwane on the MDC log. After 11 games played, Amakhosi occupy tenth position with 13 points and Sunday’s opponents occupy ninth spot with 15 points.
Chiefs go to Limpopo Province at the back of losing 5-4 to Ajax Cape Town in their last match. City also lost their last match, 3-2 to Mamelodi Sundowns.
“We are playing well,” comments Chiefs Reserves side coach Arthur Zwane, “it’s just that we don’t score enough. Well, besides our last match, but then we conceded too many goals. We do create chances, but we must learn to take those chances better on a more regular basis.
“It’s positive, however, that we have a lot of future prospects in the squad and we are grooming them for the future.”
Given Thibedi, for example, has been excellent in the defensive midfield role, while Asanda Dyani has also shown fine form. Dyani is an attacking player, who is very explosive. He has scored four goals this season.
Coach Zwane is also happy with the huge turnout of Kaizer Chiefs supporters at all the game. “It’s great to see how our supporters have come out in numbers to stand behind our team,” the coach comments, “it’s very stimulating for the guys.”
Free tickets for this weekend's festival are available from 13:00 on Friday, 26 January, at Seshego Stadium, where a maximum of two tickets per person per match will be issued (no ID is required).
