Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral and his team have turned their attention from cup football to the Premier Soccer League, as they resume normal services on Wednesday evening with a game against Amazulu in Durban.

For Chiefs The ABSA Stadium will prove to be familiar territory as Chiefs have played their last four consecutive league games at the venue, and were last in action there on the 24th November when they played out an exciting 2-2 draw with their arch rivals Orlando Pirates on the eve of the FIFA World Cup Preliminary draw.

Muhsin Ertugral has been forced to make changes to his team from the one that was victorious against Mamelodi Sundowns on the weekend - in total he has made three changes to his starting eleven and a further two on the bench.

Changes

Ertugral had no choice but to switch around personal as Tinashe Nengomasha is suspended for the game, in comes Gerald Sibeko to replace Nengomasha for the game against Amazulu.

Two of his substitutes from Saturday have also been ruled out of the game. Thabo Mooki is suffering with a hamstring problem and thus has remained in Johannesburg, and a suspension has seen Shaun Bartlett also miss out on the meeting with the Usuthu.

Bartlett could be unavailable for the next three weeks. The places on the bench have been taken by Sandile Zuke and Fabian McCarthy who returns to the squad after being left out for Saturday’s final, McCarthy started Chiefs last league game against Pirates on the 24th November.

Thuso starts

After featuring in nine consecutive games in all competition Ertugral has opted to rest Arthur Zwane, and has decided to give Thuso Phala a run on the right side of midfield on Wednesday. For Phala it is just his second start of the season, he last started a game on the 22nd September when Chiefs lost to Ajax Cape Town at Loftus it is though Phala’s eight appearance for Chiefs this season.

Likewise Kaizer Motaung Junior gets a run in the starting eleven in just over a month - his last start was on the 31st October when Chiefs defeated Free State Stars 3-0 in Rustenburg. He will partner Mabhudi Khenyeza in attack as Ertugral changes his formation from the cup final, and opts to play with two strikers in attack.
