“We are here to do business,” comments coach Ernst Middendorp about tonight’s encounter against Bloemfontein Celtic. “We don’t check too much on what other teams are doing, we are solely focused on our own game plan.
“The aim remains to collect as many points as possible, so that we will be in a better position at the end of the league season.”
Kaizer Chiefs are in seventh position on the Absa Premiership log at present, having collected 38 points from 27 games, while Bloemfontein Celtic are in ninth place with four points less.
The two sides are in Polokwane to face each other in a league fixture at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday evening, 27 April 2019. Kick-off is at 20:15.
“We played to a draw in our last match,” Middendorp reflects on Tuesday’s 1-all draw against Golden Arrows. “We attacked well and hit the bar a few times. We should have won looking at the chances we created.”
About tonight’s encounter against Celtic, the German coach says: “They got a good result here in their game against Polokwane City. That won’t, however, have any bearing on our game. We are focusing on what we have to do.”
Scorer of the equaliser against Arrows, Kgotso Moleko, is ruled out due to suspension. The good news is that Kabelo Mahlasela has recovered from his foot injury and has travelled with the squad to Polokwane.
“We are ready to play and win this match,” Middendorp concludes.
