Kaizer Chiefs will travel to Cape Town to face Cape Town City in the 2016/17 MTN8 quarterfinal fixture on Friday, 26 August 2016.
The Amakhosi are pitted against the Cape side after the two clubs finished fifth and fourth respectively in the 2015/16 Absa Premiership season. Cape Town City was formerly known as Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Last season, Amakhosi lost narrowly to another Cape Town side, Ajax Cape Town, in the MTN8 final. A Nathan Paulse penalty broke the hearts of the Chiefs faithful.
Kick-off for the Cape Town City clash is at 20:00 at Cape Town Stadium.
The other quarterfinal fixtures are: Platinum Stars against Chippa United at Rustenburg’s Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex on Saturday, 27 August (kick-off is at 15:00). On the same day, at 20:15, Bidvest Wits will host Orlando Pirates at Johannesburg’s Bidvest Stadium.
On Sunday, 28 August, Mamelodi Sundowns will host their neighbours SuperSport United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium (kick-off at 15:00).
Ticketing and related information will be announced in due course.
