Katlego Mphela scored the only goal as Bafana ended their preparation time against fellow 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers Denmark who are ranked 36th in the World.
Amakhosi keeper Itumeleng Khune, who made a return to the Bafana starting eleven after missing the recent game against Guatemala as he was recovering from an injury, made important saves in each half of the match. Tellingly he made a fantastic stop at full stretch to stop a powerfully driven off-shot from Danish substitute Mikkel Beckmann in second half stoppage time to ensure that he kept a clean sheet.
Chiefs midfield duo of Tshabalala and Letsholonyane starred in midfield for South Africa and gave the Danish defence a difficult time throughout the game, for his efforts Letsholonyane was named as the man of the match.
The Amakhosi midfielder was creative in attack and raced back to help out in defence. His versatility and the performances of Tshabalala and Khune against Denmark are sure to have convinced coach Carlos Alberto Parreira that the trio can do the job for South Africa when they kick-off their FIFA World Cup campaign in Group A against Mexico at Soccer City on Friday afternoon.
