After travelling to Angola to face Kabuscorp SCP in the CAF Confederation Cup, Kaizer Chiefs returned home on Sunday to prepare for another battle - this time in the Betway Premiership, where they will take on Marumo Gallants at FNB Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Amakhosi will be eager to return to winning ways after suffering their first defeat of the season against Sekhukhune United last Wednesday at the same venue.

The technical team will assess the squad following a physically demanding encounter in Luanda. Glody Lilepo was stretchered off after a reckless tackle in the penalty area, while Zitha Kwinika required a head wrap due to excessive bleeding incurred from an elbow to the face by Jorge, which earned the Kubascorp player a red card.

With five matches scheduled over 14 days, there will be little time for rest and recovery for the Glamour Boys who still have four matches to play before the next FIFA break.

A victory in Wednesday’s league clash against Gallants will serve as a major morale booster for Amakhosi ahead of Saturday’s second leg of the Confederation Cup.

On the log, Chiefs are in third place, with 13 points from six matches, and Bahlabane Ba Ntwa are in ninth position, on 9 points, after seven outings in the league.
