Chiefs welcome Spurs in style

Kaizer Chiefs fans were at O.R. Tambo international as early as 06:00 to welcome visitors, Tottenham Hotspur who landed just after 07:00 am.



Spurs are in the country for the annual Vodacom Challenge where they will be facing Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.



Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung who was coordinating the welcoming from the Chiefs point of view was in full praises of the supporters who arrived on time to do the traditional welcome, “It is a culture at Chiefs that we welcome our visitors into the country.”



“We did this with Manchester United and Manchester City and the Spurs contingent appreciated the gesture. There were also supporters from Orlando Pirates and few from Tottenham Hotspur,” said Motaung speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday morning.



“I would like to thank all the supporters who came through to the airport to support this initiative. We are working together with Orlando Pirates and on the same initiative will unfold in Mpumalanga when Spurs arrive there to play them.”



“Chief” as Cecil Motaung is affectionately known to the Kaizer Chiefs faithful revealed that there will be a ‘meet and greet’ on Friday in Polokwane and also in Port Elizabeth when the Glamour Boys land next week to play Orlando Pirates on Thursday, 21 July 2011.
