Amakhosi midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has told kaizerchiefs.com that he believes Sunday’s Nedbank Cup round of 16 clash against BIDVest Wits will pose a different challenge to Chiefs meeting with the Students on Wednesday evening which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Chiefs and Wits Absa Premiership clash at the Mbombela Stadium finished deadlocked after Letsholonyane found a second half equalizer for the Amakhosi, the Bafana Bafana midfielder is well aware that when they face Roger De Sa’s team on Sunday it will be a totally different ball game.

“One thing is for Sure the upcoming game is going to be a lot tougher than Wednesday’s was” explained Letsholonyane to kaizerchiefs.com before expanding on his comments by stating, “the dynamic of the game is different, the challenge for us will also be different this time we know that it will be tougher to come back should we go a goal behind this is a cup after all.”

Given that it is an eliminator Letsholonyane would like for the Amakhosi to get the job in regulation time and not have to go to extra time or penalty’s to progress to the next round, “we are positive heading into this game, we can’t think any other way. We fully focus on getting to the quarter finals it has been a while since Chiefs reached the last eight of the Nedbank Cup, we know we can do it and our aim is to try and win the game in regulation time and not have to go beyond ninety minutes.”

Unlike Wednesday evenings game Sunday’s cup game will be played at the BIDVest Stadium in Johannesburg a ground where Chiefs have won their last four games at against the Students and Letsholonyane is hoping that they continue that trend on Sunday.

“We enjoy playing at the BidVest Stadium it is a compact ground and we have had some good results their over the last few seasons, those past results might give us a historical and psychological boost but we still need to go out there and win the game.”

Wednesday’s game against Wits also saw Letsholonyane complete a special milestone when he found the net against Wits, as it meant that he has scored for both club and country at the Mbombela Stadium, he scored his first international goal for South Africa during a friendly game against Thailand last season at the venue.

“To me it never really crossed my mind that I had scored their for South Africa, we were trailing in the game and it was just important that we were able to score and got something out of the game although I do feel that I should have scored a second goal with a chance I got late in the game.”
