Two first half goals from striker, Sthembiso Ngcobo and George Lebese were enough to hand the Glamour Boys a Macufe Cup victory over Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday, 09 October 2011 in an entertaining clash played at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

With 10 players involved in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers and few out with different injuries, Coach Vladimir Vermezovic who watched the game from the suites used the opportunity to have a look at other players like centre back, Brent Lawler who did not disappoint playing alongside Tefu Mashamaite in the heart of defence.

Dominic Mateba, Mthokozisi Yende, Abia Nale were handed a start while George Lebese, captain of the day had a superb game scoring the second goal of the game in the 21st minute.

Lebese’s strike came three minutes after lanky striker; Sthembiso Ngcobo had opened scoring in the 18th minute.

The Glamour Boys were in control of the game and should have scored more goals. They did allow Bloemfontein Celtic to get a consolation goal deep in the injury time when Ezenwa Otorugo’s header beat substitute, Kabelo Metsimetsi who had come in place of evergreen, Arthur Bartman.

The win should be a confidence booster for the Amakhosi who travel to Polokwane this coming weekend for a tricky Absa Premiership tie against Black Leopards.
