Platinum Stars victory

The previous Sunday we came up against a very determined Platinum Stars after a short week of inactivity following the postponement of our game against Swallows on the 5th February.

Our hosts grabbed two goals in the first half in an effort to unsettle us, but we rallied to claim all points at the end of the match.

I also do not think we played at our usual level in the first half; something that made me suspect that the eleven day break may have had some effect on our sharpness.

After a word with the team at half time, we came back strongly and showed more character to win the game. I would therefore like to congratulate all the players for the sterling job and hope that we keep a consistent performance throughout the league race.

I also want remind them that there is more work ahead of us. It important for us to focus from the 1st minute next time we might not have an opportunity to stage such a come back.

Preview: Kaizer Chiefs vs. Moroka Swallows

The game against Moroka Swallows cannot be taken lightly. The team has improved tremendously since the arrival of Gordon Igesund. They have good players in their squad and the pace of both Siyabonga Nomvethe and Koketso Mmotong has caused lot of problems for PSL teams.

This being a Soweto derby is a huge game for us.

We are playing at home and for us we want to keep the momentum. The spirit in the camp is high as we continue to take it one game at a time. We do not want to be ahead of ourselves and now our 110% focus is on Moroka Swallows.

Unfortunately, we going to this game without the services of Knowledge Musona and Jimmy Jambo but we have enough depth in the team. We have been tested in all departments and we have come out tops.

I remain confident of the squad we have this season as we look at finishing better than last season.

I cannot wait to see you all at Loftus Stadium. Kick off is at 19:30

Nedbank Cup Draw

On Monday night I attended Nedbank Draw and you never know what to expect in a draw. At the end we were drawn up with first division outfit, Nathi Lions. We do not know anything about them at this stage but for us it is important that we do not do the same mistake we did two seasons ago losing against teams in the First Division.

Now the focus is on Moroka Swallows!
