Kaizer Chiefs Chairman, Kaizer Motaung on behalf of the Club has sent a message of condolences to the family of Mr. Walter Da Silver who succumbed to death this morning after a long sickness.

Walter Da Silva had a short stint with Kaizer Chiefs back in 1996 when he took over the reigns from Jeff Buttler.

Motaung as a former player in his own right, remembered Walter Da Silva as a player back in the 70s.

“I remember him as a player back in the 1970s for Highlands Park with the likes of Willie McTosh, Jorge Santaro, Bobby Yune, Freddie Kalk. He was a master in bicycle kick and was also very kind as a person.

He had a stint with us back in the mid 90s, I would like to take this opportunity and send heartfelt condolences to his family,” said Mr. Kaizer Motaung.

Born Walter Ceaser Noguera Da Silva 67 years ago in Brazil, Walter will be remembered as one of the people who contributed to the development of football in this country.

May his soul rest in peace!
