Kaizer Chiefs would like to join the football fraternity in sending heartfelt sympathy to the Lebese Family following the passing away of Thabang Lebese on Wednesday evening.

Affectionately known as 'Chillies', Lebese burst into scene in 1993 making his official debut against Orlando Pirates in the old FNB Stadium.

He went on to become a household name at Kaizer Chiefs where he formed a telepathic combination with his friends Thabo 'TsikiTsiki' Mooki and Tshepo 'Chippa' Molatedi and later Frank 'Disco' Makua.

Many will remember him for the brace against rivals Orlando Pirates on the eve of Valentines Day back in 1998.

On that afternoon, Paul Dolezer then Head Coach pulled a surprise playing Lebese alone upfront with Marc Bachelor playing centre back. He probably played his best football that afternoon.

In 2000, the Soweto born surprised many when he left the Glamour Boys to join rivals Orlando Pirates via Ria Stars.

We hope that his family, friends and all those affected by his passing will find strength in these trying times.
