The win in the first league game of the 2014/15 PSL season sky rocketed the confidence in the Amakhosi camp. The players believe that the first win in the league is a morale booster going forward. The players were buoyant by their hard fought league opener victory over Free State Stars last Saturday. The inspired Glamour Boys were consciously optimistic ahead of their trip to the Lowveld where they will be facing Back Aces for the second time in ten days.

The Glamour Boys walloped Black Aces 4 – 0 in the MTN 8 quarterfinals eight days ago. This time, they will be meeting in a ‘different ball game’ altogether. At stake will be the Absa Premiership marathon and the venue will not be at home for the Amakhosi, it will be at the Mbombela Stadium, 20 km from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.

A fired up Katsande looked ahead of the trip to the Mpumalanga Province on Wednesday.

How do you feel after starting the season with two wins in a row (Cup and League)?

“It's always good to start with a positive result in the league. It will boost our confidence going forward to the next games,” said Katsande.

How do you see your next game against Aces, the team you already beat 4-0 though it was in the Cup?

“It is going to be a different ball game and very tough I think. Since we thrashed them last week, I am sure they worked on their mistakes. But to us every game is a cup final. We need the three points to keep up the momentum. The win at FS Stars is a morale booster. The energy in the team is at all-time high, it’s unbelievable.”

How is the mood in camp following the start of the season?

“The mood is high in the camp. We are like a family at Chiefs. The guys know each other and the new signings have fitted like hand in glove with the rest of us.”

Tickets are sold at Computicket outlets nationwide at a cost of R50. Gates open at 16:30 and kickoff for the game is at 19:30 on Wednesday 13 August.
