Kaizer Chiefs Football Club in its entirety would like to congratulate the organisation of the 29th Orange Africa Cup of Nations which took place in South Africa from 19 January to 10 February 2013.

A big round of applause should go to the LOC, CAF, the sponsors, host cities (Johannesburg, Nelspruit, Rustenburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth), Media and in particular the fans who supported and attended the games.

South Africans should be proud - not only for the improved performance on the pitch from Bafana Bafana's quarterfinal exit from the tournament, but also in the way the South Africans have welcomed the visitors - the spirit of togetherness was at display at the stadia.

"We trust that some of the derived positive elements will rub off on the development of local football including the improvement of match attendance by the fans"; Said Kaizer Chiefs Corporate Communications Manager.

The Club would also like to extend the praise to the participating teams for a solid and entertaining football they displayed during the games. The kudos must go to the eventual champions, Nigeria for winning the title for the third time.

The tournament theme - "Celebrate Africa - The Beat at Africa's Feet" was personified and illustrated in colour throughout the duration of the tournament.

Well done Mzansi!
