Kaizer Chiefs would like to congratulate Banyana Banyana for booking their place as one of the two African nations to compete at the 2012 London Olympics when they drew with Ethopia on Sunday, 11 September 2011.

South Africa, coached by Kaizer Chiefs legend Joseph “Skhetshekhetshe” Mkhonza played to a 1-1 draw away winning the tie 4-1 on aggregate after registering a 3-0 win at home in August.

This will be Banyana Banyana’s first appearance at the Olympics since the team came into being in 1993.

Congratulations are also in order to neighbours, Orlando Pirates who successfully defended MTN8 on Saturday evening when they beat Kaizer Chiefs by 1-0.
