“We must develop consistency in our approach,” says coach Steve Komphela, looking ahead at tonight’s Absa Premiership match against Maritzburg United. “We won our last match and that has brought in an element of belief in the team. We are getting there. Being consistent is key.”
Amakhosi host the Team of Choice on Saturday, Heritage Day, at the FNB Stadium (kick-off is at 18:00).
“We need to monitor their attacking patterns,” Komphela adds. “We have, however, also seen a few elements in their approach that we should be able to explore to our advantage.”
The Chiefs coach, who had a successful stint with United two seasons ago, identified Kurt Lentjies and Evans Rusike as their danger men.
Komphela expressed satisfaction with the progress of his players: “There are areas in the team that are now perfect, while we are still polishing other parts of our play.”
Ryan Moon is out of contention for this match. The young striker is scheduled to undergo a knee surgery next week.
Tickets for the encounter between Chiefs and Maritzburg are on sale at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers for R40. Tickets will also be on sale at the FNB Stadium gate H and E.
