Chappies will be sponsoring a national under twelve competition, to be known as the Chappies Little League Cup open to all primary school teams in South Africa.
This is not Chappies first venture into football at youth level. In the early eighties Chappies sponsored the very successful Chappies Little League brand manager for Chappies for Moshi Kola explains more: "Chappies is one of the best known brands in South Africa.
"Given the success of the previous Chappies Little League stars like, Junaid Harteley, Brian Baloyi and Thabo Mooki and we wanted to bring back the joy and show to the communities that Chappies really cares and this is our way of affording more children around the country the opportunity to make a better life for themselves."
The exposure through this tournament will enable kids to display their talent in their own communities as well as giving them the opportunity to display their skills, and enhance
their own prospects for the future.
Chappies and the United Schools Sports Association of South Africa have entered to a three year agreement which has ensured that Primary School Kids around the country no
longer have to wait until they get to high school before they begin playing sport and discovering their talents.
Mandla Mazibuko President of USSASA Football explains further: "We at USSASA are overjoyed at our new partnership with Chappies as we have been able to complete our objective of launching a national Primary Schools Competition.
"For football in general this is magnificent as the pool for talent scouting has widened as well as the development of players at an early age. Thanks to Chappies and their commitment to the future of the country this has become possible."
With the ceremonies out of the way the real work begins at the commencement of the second school term with the teams winding down to the final eighteen teams who will
contest the national finals in September.
