Amakhosi Reserves maintained their joint lead atop the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) league table after their handsome 4-0 victory over Polokwane FC on Sunday.
Goals from Thulani Mabaso, Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi, Kabelo Nkgwesa and Mpho Khetang fired Chiefs to 17 points from their eight matches in the national U23 league.
They have a bye next weekend, as Royal AM withdrew from the competition due to their inability to field an U23 team.
In the SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL), Kaizer Chiefs hosted Wits at the Village on Saturday. The U13s got Amakhosi off to a great start, winning 4-1, followed by a 1-1 draw between the respective U15 teams. In the afternoon, the U17s found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 score but the U19s bounced back to win their encounter 1-0, to end the day as it had begun.
The four Amakhosi academy teams were meant to play on Sunday as well, against North West University, Vaal. However, NWU were forced to forfeit the tie because they failed to supply medics, as required by the GDL regulations.
