Chiefs U17 continued with their impressive form when they beat the School of Excellence 2-1 on penalties in Elandsfontein last Friday.



The game ended 1 all with striker, Allie Buran scoring an equaliser late in the second half.



The game was decided on penalties where Diepkloof born goalkeeper, Mpho Mathekga became a hero saving two penalties with another Soweto born striker, Emmanuel ‘Adebayo’ Letlotlo and Jack Mazibuko scoring decisive penalties for the Amakhosi’ U17 side.



The U17 side will compete in the Engen U17 Tournament to be played on the weekend of 7-9 September 2012 at Marks Park, Johannesburg.



Meanwhile U19 Coach, Ntsie Maphike has revealed to kaizerchiefs.com his side is hard at work in preparation for the promotional play offs to Castle Division (3rd Division) after winning the Eldorado Park League last season.



“The teams that were no. 1 in the Gauteng region will play in the promotional play offs in October this year which promises to be tough test for the team. Preparations are underway and the team has been busy playing numerous friendly games. We should be ready to compete come October,” said Maphike.



Some of the players that feature for the U19 side are the likes of Tshegofatso ‘Ninja’ Ramabu, Benedict ‘Cambassio’ Jacobs, Lorenzo Gordinho, Sandile Mtshali, Philani Cele and Andile Nqabeni who was loaned out to Thanda Royal Zulu last season.
