Kaizer Chiefs U17 bounced back from their midweek defeat to beat Alex Balfour at Nike Sports Complex by 3-1 thanks to a brace from Emmanuel Letlotlo and one goal from Mandla Ngcanga.



The young Amakhosi lost 3-0 on Friday, 14 September against EAI Development at Randburg Sports Complex.



Meanwhile the Club’s U19 under the tutelage of Ntsie Maphike played a friendly match against Abia Nale Academy over the weekend giving them a 4-0 drubbing in one sided game.



The Abia Nale Foundation and Nale Academy based in Vanderbijlpark launched in 2011 used the opportunity to honour Club’s great and development coach, Ryder Mofokeng for his contribution in South African football.



Accepting the award, Ryder Mofokeng who remains the longest serving captain of the Club from 1975-1985 said; “I was taken by a surprise when the official from Nale Academy informed me that there is something they are going to give me before the start of the game.



“I really appreciate the honour but it is not only for me but other legends that played the beautiful game during my era and continue to give back to football,” said Mofokeng.



The Manager of Abia Nale Academy, Zakes Nale said; “We are honouring Mr Mofokeng for the outstanding contribution he has made in the development of South African football. His commitment to South African football is second to none and as Academy we felt that it was appropriate to honour him for his devotion to South African football for the past 35 years,”



Kaizer Chiefs Family would like to congratulate ‘Skipper’ on his latest piece of accolade.
