Things are shaping well at the Amakhosi Development, this is according to Football Manager, Bobby Motaung.

“We are investing heavily in this project. We are putting together a solid infrastructure to support our ambition to grow our own players. The evolution of football economy requires us to develop our own talent. We are not only investing in players, we are strengthening the Technical Team with a Team of Physios, Sports Scientist and Dieticians. We have brought in a Technical Director, Bo Augustsson from Sweden to oversee and guide the process. Mr Augustsson is busy adapting to the conditions in SA and we hope that he will add value to the project. We already see progress sooner than we expected,” said Bobby Motaung.

kaizerchiefs.com caught up with the Management Team to gather the latest progress in the Development Team;

The Amakhosi U19’s are playing in the SAB Regional League under the tutelage of Ntsie Maphike. “The 18 team league has just resumed last weekend. Chiefs lost to Orange Stars from Orange Farm by 2-0,” said the optimistic Team Administrator, Ryder Mofokeng.

“The U17’s are doing very well. They are leading the SAFA Soweto League followed by Senaoane Gunners. Coach Arthur Zwane is doing well with the players and we have already identified some of the players for promotion to the U19 - something that is very encouraging. We are left with only four games to reach the end of the 14 teams league;” continued Mofokeng.

Head of Development Coaches, Ace Khuse, joined in the conversation to express his outlook on the progress made; “We are progressing well with Development. Management is giving us the necessary support and already we have spotted some promising players for the future.”

If the activities as witnessed around the Development are anything to go by, the Amakhosi are looking set for a greater future.
