The first ever Kaizer Chiefs esports tournament started this Friday morning at 10:00. Numerous gamers are already playing FIFA 17 in different heats.

The Chiefs tournament, which is part of the larger Rush esports event, will run until Sunday, 23 July, when the finals will be held.

Gamers can register until Saturday, 22 July, at 12:00. The tournament is played on PlayStation 4 and takes plays at the Exhibition Hall 2, Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg.

Entry to the tournament is free. You are urged to come and support this growing industry and see what esports is all about.

Spectators and visitors pay R50 for a day pass (valid for one day only) and R100 for a weekend pass (valid for all three days). Tickets are available at Computicket or at the entrance.

There will be exciting prizes, including R20 000 for this weekend’s winner.

To enter and participate in this Kaizer Chiefs esports tournament one doesn’t need to excel in the FIFA 17 game. It’s also about interacting with young and old, who love playing the game of soccer digitally.
