Numerous enthusiastic Kaizer Chiefs supporters waited patiently at the Cape Town International Airport for the arrival of their beloved Glamour Boys.

One of them, Phumeza Mbewu of Chiefs’ Site B Branch in Khayelitsha, says: “We wish Shabba (Siphiwe Tshabalala) a happy birthday. It’s great to see that he’s celebrating this in Cape Town.”

It’s today the midfielder’s birthday, having reached the age of 31.

Amakhosi’s trip to the Mother City is for an Absa Premiership assignment against Ajax Cape Town. This game will take place at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, 26 September (kick-off is at 20:15).

Excitement erupted when the Chiefs players arrived. “They must play well,” a supporter said, referring to Saturday’s match, before adding: “Win or lose, we are forever behind the team.”

“Every time Chiefs is in Cape Town, the vibe is so epic,” enthuses Zanele Bengo of the Kuils River Branch. “We wish that the team collects the three points against Ajax. We lost our cup (MTN8) last week, which is not easy to accept. However, our players always try their best.”

Tickets for the game between Amakhosi and the Urban Warriors are sold at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide. Ticket prices range from R40 to R80.

Secure free parking is available in the P5 Parking Zone for disabled patrons, on presentation of their purchased soccer ticket. General parking is available around the CBD, in legal parking zones only.
