In recent games our football has been very much like Wall Street, the famous stock exchange in New York City. We are playing what I would describe as Wall Street football.
If you have had shares on the stock exchange - then you would know the emotions their performance can take you on. The feelings are very much like an amusement park roller coaster of with fluctuations, variations, loss or profit.
I have seen that our football has been very similar to the emotions experienced when one enters the stock exchange, we begin our matches on a high and score early instead of continuing to play the market by going for more goals.
We leave the stock exchange and go out of the building for coffee - meaning we lose concentration. At the end of the day we concede a goal and we land up drawing games.
This means that our stock makes no headway. We neither gain nor lose, which is not why we get involved in the stock exchange to begin with. Our aim is to make a profit.
To make it big in the stock market one needs to take risks. I feel that until now we have not been bullish enough and therefore our competitors have been able to make inroads and stop us.
We need to trade more rigorously and aggressively. When you make the first million on the market, one should always go in search of the next million - not sit back because when we become complacent, apathy and lethargy sets in which means we ultimately cause our own demise. One would now ask how does all of this fit in with the game of soccer and our recent performances?
The answer is simple. We have begun our matches recently very positively and have scored early goals - instead of pressing the advantage gained, we stepped back and ultimately we got caught out and conceded an equalizer.
Since the weekend's game against Swallows - we have decided to approach each game more aggressively and not sit back and wait and see what happens.
We train six hours or more a day and that shows that we are making the effort in the correct direction. What we need to do is make all the effort worth it.
At the moment we have been putting in effort into our game but we have not been able to reward ourselves for the effort.
My ultimate aim is to create our team into a blue chip share - one that continuously and consistently performs well.
We have the ability, the talent and the resources in terms of the depth in our squad to be able to achieve this. I feel that we have now turned the corner and we will now move forward with a positive outlook. Together with the players - we have agreed that we don’t want to be second best.
We want to be number one and take home the PSL title once again.
Keep up the love and peace. On Friday, we will discuss our double header against Classic and then we will start thinking about the Pirates game next week.
