Since we were eliminated from the Coca Cola Cup in November most of our focus and attention has been on fighting our way back into the league title race, where at one stage that might have looked a very distant mirage has turned for us into a fight for what could be a record equalling third PSL title. For this weekend only the league is placed on hold as we try to bring a cup title in our sights.
Believe me when I say it will be no walk in the park on Saturday afternoon at the FNB Stadium - this being our first daytime game since we returned to league action in January. SuperSport for all their downplaying and psychological jigsaw puzzling will come out with a strong team and will not want to give up their crown without a real fight.
We are aware of the magnitude of the task at hand. They have been in five-cup finals in two seasons, winning two of those and losing out in three - and one of the ones they did win was the ABSA Cup. Like I said previously, changes will be made to our team and these are enforced ones because we need to set our minds ahead to Santos and Swallows as well.
On to matters of a different kind, we were fortunate enough to see Serge Djiehoua play half an hour of a friendly game on Thursday afternoon and he emerged from the game without any difficulties.
It has been a long and hard road to recovery for him with many potholes and slippery patches on that road; he has come through the first part of getting back into the first team. While Serge has been making progress Thabo Mooki still seems to be stuck without any luck and is coming along very slowly as he tries to walk off his calf injury.
Hope to see all of you in large numbers at the Stadium on Saturday afternoon, our game is in the day time this weekend so you will have the evening period to spend with your families and friends. Be there to help us on to the last 16.
Yours 4 Life
