Kaizer Chiefs head coach Muhsin Ertugral has been given a week off in the wake of mounting pressure from the media and will not be on the bench when Amakhosi take on Ajax Cape Town in the Coca-Cola Cup semifinals on Saturday.

Ertugral was not on the bench when the Glamour Boys beat Hellenic 1-0 in a league match at Olympia Stadium on Saturday. His assistants, Doctor Khumalo and Donald Khuse were in the driving seat and they have now been handed the responsibility of guiding the team in the Coca-Cola Cup semifinal.

The Turkey-born coach - who told The Star on Wednesday that he was prepared to quit as long as "it is for the good of the club" - will meet club managing director Kaizer Motaung on Monday.

"If I can help improve things at the club by going out, I will do it," Ertugral said.
