“We are looking for a good game,” Siphiwe ‘Shabba’ Tshabalala says ahead of Wednesday’s match against Bloemfontein Celtic at FNB Stadium. “We have been working hard at training to correct a few things and we are eyeing the three points.”
Kaizer Chiefs are on a disappointing run, but the midfielder is adamant that coach Steve Komphela shouldn’t be blamed. “We, as players, are fully behind the coach,” Tshabalala comments. “We are the ones that should turn things around and we plan to do that on Wednesday. The players must take responsibility.”
Amakhosi are presently in seventh position on the Absa Premiership log with 17 points from 12 matches, while Wednesday’s visitors Siwelele are down in 12th position with 11 points from 11 games.
There are still three fixtures to be played before the break, starting with the clash against Celtic and followed by Polokwane City (at home, Sunday, 18 December) and Golden Arrows (away, Wednesday, 21 December).
“It’s important to collect the points in these matches,” Tshabalala says. “It’s not a good feeling to have dropped so many points, but we must just keep going.”
Chiefs will host Celtic at FNB Stadium on Wednesday, 14 December (kick-off is at 19:30).
Tickets are on sale at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide for R40.
