Tuesday, July 24, 2012 midnight is the closing date for fans to cast votes of their preferred players to take the field when Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates lock horns in Carling Black Label Cup.



The tournament that will be on second year running will see the two teams square up against each other in a ‘night fever’ game as scheduled to be witnessed by a capacity crowd on July 28, 2012 at the FNB Stadium. By last update 19.5million votes were cast compared to 10.7million votes cast for the 2011 version.

Kaizer Chiefs would like to pass a message of gratitude and appreciation to the multitudes of its supporters. Chiefs is proud to be associated with many soccer loving people inside and outside our South African boarders. Amakhosi demonstrated their support strength when they filled Lucas Moripe Stadium, in Atteridgeville during Gauteng Sports Challenge which took place on July 21, 2012.



Amakhosi won the one day tournament after beating Moroka Swallows 3-0 and in the final conquered Wits 8-7 on penalties. The 12th player as soccer fans are known, Chiefs followers continue to demonstrate love and passion for the team.



Carling Black Label Consumer Coach



Carling Black Label Consumer Coach selection took place at the SAB World of Beer in Newtown on July 21, 2012. Facilitated by Sports Presenter Kwena Moabelo the rigorous process involved four finalists each from both Pirates and Chiefs. The finalists had to answer football related questions and also act as Coaches in front of the panel which included Miki Modisane PRO of Pirates, Chiefs Communications Manager Vina Maphosa and TV Personalities Popeye and Spinach.



After a carefully monitored and audited process Qinile Wilson Mbatha an ardent Chiefs supporter from Thokoza emerged victorious and will occupy the Chiefs hot seat during the much anticipated clash between Pirates and Chiefs 19:00, July 28, 2012. The excited Qinile told kaizerchiefs.com “I feel happy and excited and can’t wait to see the players and to convince them that the cup belongs to Chiefs. Wherever I go people become happy to see me and they wish me well as a consumer coach on Saturday.”



The Gold and Black are expected to once again dominate their opponents on and off the field come Saturday 19:00 FNB Stadium.
