A fortnight after beginning their pre-season preparations, the Amakhosi had the opportunity to test their match readiness for their Vodacom Challenge clash with English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur when they played in a series of practice games against the University of Pretoria on Monday afternoon at the University’s High performance center in Tshwane (Pretoria).

As Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic explained on Monday evening to kaizerchiefs.com, it was essential that he got to see his charges in a game environment so that he could further analyze how their pre-season preparations have been progressing.

“We used a number of players and during the Monday afternoon practice games, it was important for everyone to get a run out so that we could see them in a game situation.

We have been back at training for two weeks now and it was good to see how the training has worked and as well as how the guys perform in a game situation.”

The Amakhosi mentor further added that the initial signs were positive after their practice run out on Monday.

“Everything went well we achieved our objectives for what we wanted to get out of these games against the University of Pretoria teams it was a good run out for the team.”

The Amakhosi will continue training at the High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria in Tshwane (Pretoria) this week before departing later in the week for Polokwane ahead of their opening Vodacom Challenge clash against Spurs.
