Kaizer Chiefs return to league action when they welcome Golden Arrows in the battle of the two teams that are occupying the extreme ends of the Absa Premiership. Chiefs go into the clash occupying the top position of the log while the visitors, Arrows, are languishing at the bottom of the table.

kaizerchiefs.com spoke to George Lebese about their prospects ahead of the clash.

Chiefs bowed out of the CAF Champions League over the weekend?

We are saddened by the early exit from the Champions League. We were looking forward to have a long run in the competition. Now that we are out of CAF the best we can do for ourselves is to move on and focus on the next game.

Arrows are coming to FNB Stadium?

First of all we have a home ground advantage. We are unbeaten at home in 25 games in the league and we want to continue with that record. We showed even in the CAF Champions League that at home we are difficult to beat. We beat AS Vita Club at FNB Stadium even though we were knocked out of the competition. FNB Stadium is our Fortress.

How are you coping with the tight schedule?

The Coach is implementing a rotation system that is working well at the moment. Everyone is given a chance to rest. We are doing well and most of the guys are still sharp despite the heavy schedule.

Arrows are rooted at the bottom of the log?

It is a very big challenge for us to play against a relegation haunted Team. It is difficult to play against an opponent that is fighting for survival to stay in the top league. We have to be cautious and take this game serious. We need the three points.

Theres talk of the title race heating up with Mamelodi Sundowns chasing hard at the top?

We are still occupying the top position at the moment. It is still a long way to go with 8 games left in the league. We are sticking with our game plan of taking each game at a time. The pressure is on the chasing pack.
