"Things have changed since my playing days," enthuses legend Shane MacGregor. MacGregor was speaking at the SAB Training Centre, Kyalami, on Saturday, 25th July 2015.



"The development of football has come a long way," adds MacGregor. "Looking at this process of selecting a Champion Coach, it is sophisticated. These are exciting moments in football."



The seven finalists from both teams qualified to reach this stage of the competition via a voting process that started on 13 April 2015 and answering questions on SABC1’s Soccerzone. The finalists were taken through a rigorous selection process including motivating their team and handling press conferencing.



"I'm happy to see how the fans have grown with the development of football," continued MacGregor. "It is interesting to see how knowledgeable the fans have become in terms of the technical aspects of the game."



The selection of the Champion Coach for the much anticipated Carling Black Label Cup Derby match took place on Saturday, 25 July 2015. The winning coaches will have a privilege of taking charge of coaching and experiencing the preparation of the team ahead of a big match.



"It has been a great experience for me to be part of this exercise," concludes MacGregor. "The successful coaches have shown a tremendous passion. This is the kind of passion that we need in football."



The announcement of the Champion Coaches will be announced live on SABC1’s Soccerzone on Monday, 27th July 2015 at 21:00.



The Champion Coaches will reveal their starting line-ups on Wednesday on SABC1's Sports@10.



The Carling Black Label Cup match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 1st August. The sold out match will be played at the iconic FNB Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:30.
