kaizerchiefs.com visited the Team' medical room and conducted an interview with Team Physio Dave Milner to give us a sense of how the lads faired in terms of the injuries.

How was the 2013/14 season from your perspective?

"This season was a very challenging season in light of the match schedule we had. In my 15 years at the club it was most probably the hardest," said Milner.

How was the overall injuries situation?

"From an injuries point of view we were lucky not to have many injuries but were unlucky to pick up injuries to some of the key players at the wrong time of the season," said Milner.

Give us the injuries pictures of this season?

"Early in the year we had Morgan and Tsepo returning from injuries they had surgery on in the off season. We had Knowledge who sustained a fractured shoulder blade and later in the season he sustained a crucial injury which kept him out of the remainder of the season. Itu also sustained an ankle injury that kept him out for a month," said Milner.

How did the players respond to treatment?

"I must commend all the players that were injured during the season, they were very professional in their approach to their injuries. The technical staff were able to use other players and spread the loading of the players in order to ensure that they didn't become overloaded," said Milner.

You also had to deal with the National Team call ups?

"We had to withdraw four of our players from the Bafana Bafana squad due to various injuries. Some of these had been carried for the last couple of matches and the players really needed the time to recover if we expect to get the most out of them for club and country," said Milner.

Milner was referring to the withdrawal from Bafana Bafana of Khune, Masilela, Parker and Tshabalala. The quartet was selected to play in the Bafana Bafana squad that went to play friendly games in Australia and New Zealand.
