The first match between the two on April 11 ended in chaos and the
death of 43 spectators as a result of an overcrowded Ellis Park
stadium.
The Disaster Crisis Coordinating Committee (DCC) met on Monday and
decided the match would not take place on Saturday as more time was
needed to ensure proper security and safety planning.
The PSL said the Gauteng MEC for Safety and Security will consult
with provincial and local government structures by Wednesday for
ratification of the venue. It is uncertain at this stage whether
the match will be replayed at Ellis Park or at an alternative
venue.
The venue and date will be announced at a media conference on
Thursday morning.
It was agreed, however, that the replay should take place during
the day and that no tickets would be sold for the game.
According to the PSL, the only people allowed in the stadium will
be those who possess a stub or an unused ticket for the abandoned
match.
The two teams were level at 1-1 when the match was called off.
