“Friday and Saturday are Derby build-up days here at the Village,” confirms Supporters Relationship Manager Tracy Williams.

“We are expecting more supporters than even to come to their ‘home away from home’.”

The excitement is building up ahead of the derby this Saturday. At stake is the 5th Carling Black Label Cup trophy, which Pirates have clinched on three occasions since its inception.

Kaizer Chiefs versus Orlando Pirates is an epic drama waiting to happen on Saturday, 01 August at FNB Stadium.

As a tradition, Amakhosi supporters will be arriving at the Chiefs headquarters from Friday morning from all walks of life, in and around South Africa.

“We are aiming to create a festive atmosphere so that we can give supporters an authentic experience,” continues Williams.

“We are expecting between 3 500 to 4 000 visitors this weekend so we need to be well prepared.”

Times of operation this weekend are on Friday 11:00 to late and the store will be open until 19:00 and on Saturday 08:00 to 12:00. Chiefs have launched the 2015/16 home and away kit and are selling like hot cakes at the Village for R750.

On Friday, Lesedi FM OB will broadcast at 07:00 – 09:00 Chomane Chomane and Lebina Mohale with Ha Re Ye followed by Re a Kubeletsa at 15:00-18:00 with Ba2Cada and Twasa.

The merrymakers will be served meals on occasions during the day. “Food will be supplied to supporters while stocks last,” concludes Williams.

“We want to make this weekend an incredible experience for our valued supporters.”
