The Amakhosi, through their Marketing Department, under the leadership of the Marketing Director Jessica Motaung coined the theme 'Reclaiming the Glory' for the 2012 - 2013 season.

The theme would go on to be a marketing innovation not within the Club but in the football circles.

May 2013 confirmed the theme as exactly what the doctor has ordered for the ambitious 43 year old Soweto Giants. The Club went on to lift the 2012 - 13 Championship and the Nedbank Cup. Remarkably, the Championship was the first in eight years for the Glamour Boys. The Glamour Boys would do it in style, leading the log from first to the last kick of the ball during the season.

In 2013 Chiefs conquered their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates for the first time in the consumer led Carling Black Label Cup in July. In the process of collecting the silverware, Chiefs retained their Gauteng Cup and won the Botswana Challenge in November.

"As part of their continued innovation and development, the Amakhosi have gone mobile this year in October. In conjunction with powerful mobile network provider, Vodacom, Kaizer Chiefs have launched KC Mobile. The fans can now buy a starter pack and enjoy exclusive content from the Club.

2013 will be remembered as the year of innovation as was demonstrated in October when the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) and the Kaizer Chiefs Football Club officially announced their partnership that will see the University availing its expertise to benefit young talented footballers at the Club's Youth Academy.

Another result of the collaboration between Kaizer Chiefs and the University is the Kaizer Chiefs Innovation Centre that will be tested on the Vaal Triangle Campus in 2014. This centre – a first of its kind within the higher education sphere, will allow staff and students , as well as supporters from the local community , the opportunity to experience the total Kaizer Chiefs brand experience.

The letter C stands for Community and R stands for Responsibility in the Club name, Kaizer Chiefs and hence Community Responsibility is central in the Club's strategy. During 2013, the Club engaged in various activities. There were visits at schools in Bloemfontein and Soweto.

The Staff participated in Mandela Day with a cleaning campaign in Phefeni, Soweto. The collaboration with Reach for your Dream continued with many dreams realised for the terminally ill children.

The sponsor obligations were carried out with TV adverts for Hollard. Nike photo shoots as well as the collaboration with their main sponsor, Vodacom staged a number of activations at Shopping Malls and other strategic areas in Tembisa, Alexandra, Phuthaditjhaba, Umlazi, Clermont and Soweto.

To top it up the Amakhosi were nominated in the Team of the Year category in the 2013 SA Sports Awards, competing against SA Rugby and the winners The Proteas. To put the Cherry on Top came up when Itumeleng Khune, the Team Captain was named the 2013 Sports Star of the Year.

Leadership was once again personified when the Executive Chairman Kaizer Motaung received the Order of Ikhamanga, the South African honour granted by the President of South Africa for his achievement in sports. The Chairman was awarded the 2013 Steve Tshwete Lifetime Achievement Award. The Achievements by the Club speaks volumes in terms of the Brand and its promise to its supporters and investors," said a jubilant Jessica Motaung, looking back at 2013.

Jessica Motaung wished all the Amakhosi a Magical 2014.
