Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould tore his Achilles tendon in the second leg of the CAF Champions League first round clash against Raja Casablanca. He’s making good progress on the road to full recovery.

The defender is at present working out five days a week on a specialised treadmill, using 50 percent of his body weight. He will probably be back to full action in September.

Another defender, Erick Mathoho, still has a pin in the toe he was operated on after the Chippa United clash. As a result, the 25-year-old will miss the start of pre-season, but he’s expected to have fully recovered by the time the 2015/2016 Absa Premiership commences.

Simphiwe Mtsweni fractured a bone in his foot towards the end of the season. The wing-back was recently earmarked to be loaned out by Amakhosi’s Football Management. He visited the doctor on Monday and he looks likely to be back to running on the field in two weeks’ time.
